The Community...Our Business

Saving Lives in 0-48 hours
Never has saving lives been so mind blowing. Forty eight hours, zero naira and loads of heart ‘n brains may have just created the most mind blowing episode of The Next Titan Reality TV show.
For those who do not know about the show here is a brief rundown. For the first time, Nigerian television is centered on young business people and how they go through the challenges of entrepreneurship and business. Each week, the contestants are split into 2 teams and given a task at the end of which the judges grade them by certain criteria. In the first week, the teams were given N40,000 to create a product or service and bring a turnover in 48 hours. The contestants were split into men (Edge Corp.) against the ladies (Sapphire Group), with the men trumping the ladies by turning over N240,000 from the N40,000. Believe you me, it was all legit! Sapphire Group did get a win the next week, with their presentation on Hairven (a hair extensions care product) edging out Strake Roads (a road traffic information service company) from the Edge Corp.

The 3rd task is a Community Service Project. The teams were randomly picked by the Project Managers. After their research, Edge Corp. agreed to work on kidney ailments (save-a-life), health/sanitary issues, and touch a child initiative. With the short time frame for the task in mind, they played a lot on partnerships to cut through a lot of bureaucracy. They immediately partnered with a Foundation, (who donated lifesaving post-surgery drugs worth the sum N4 million), and they also partnered with St. Nicholas Hospital to distribute these drugs to patients who cannot afford them.
They did a whole lot more including clean out a toilet…
…and that is just one team of seven individuals!
The other team- Sapphire Group- decided to focus their program on the Ikota Resettlement Community and within 48 hours, achieved an impact that local and international organizations have not been able to. They drilled a Borehole providing clean water for the community that has had no access to clean water for 23years and also put up a Medical center with every basic drugs and appliances. An amazing feet attained in just 48hours.
Key Takeaways
From Sapphire Group: The little things we take for granted in life do make a huge difference in the lives of those who do not have. Potable water and a pain reliving drug can do wonders- ask the kids in Ikota resettlement!
From Edge Corp: The diagnosis to prevent kidney ailments is extremely affordable and timely. A simple urinalysis and blood pressure checkup can save your life. Each year, there are 15,000+ new cases of kidney failure in Nigeria. You can also donate a kidney because you can live healthily on one kidney. You can save your life with a simple checkup for less than N1,000.
